Hosting and care

We run it, watch it, and prove the backup restores.

Hosting, monitoring, updates and tested backups for your ERP, custom apps and web apps. Documented, so nothing lives in one person’s head.

How care works

Hosted, backed up, and restored on a schedule.

Four things happen for every system we look after. The restore test is the one that proves the backup.

  1. 01 / 04

    Hosted and watched

Your system runs on hosting we set up and document. Monitoring checks that it is up and behaving.

  2. 02 / 04

    Backed up off-site

Backups are written away from the server they protect, so one failure cannot take both.

  3. 03 / 04

    Restore tested

On a schedule, a backup is restored into a separate test environment, away from the live system.

  4. 04 / 04

    Result recorded

We confirm the restore completes and record what was checked. You can read the record.

What we look after

What care covers.

  • ERPs: ERPNext, Odoo or another platform.
  • Custom apps and web apps.
  • Hosting set up and documented.
  • Monitoring of the system and its backups.
  • Security and minor-version updates.
  • Major upgrades, planned with you before they happen.

Care ends at the edge of the system we host.

Backups, proven

A backup nobody has restored is a belief, not a backup.

The check that matters is not that a backup file exists. It is that a restore completes. So restores are tested on a schedule, and the result is recorded.

We say plainly which check has run. A completed database restore shows the data comes back. It is not the same as confirming every part of the application is healthy afterwards, and we keep the two apart.

Monitored

Watched, with the terms agreed in writing.

The system and its backups are monitored, so a problem is found by a check rather than by a user.

What we respond to, and how, is set out in the care agreement before care starts.

Built before

Built before BI Margin.

A platform that checks production backups every day, flags unusual size changes, and restores databases weekly into a test container to confirm the restore completes. In daily use.

Cloud provisioning of an ERPNext destination: servers set up, configured and documented for the system to run on.

5+ years of hands-on software development, integration, optimisation and automation.

Not managed IT

Where care stops.

Care ends at the edge of the system we host. It is documented, so your own team or another developer can take it over.

Care covers

  • The system we host
  • Its hosting, monitoring and backups
  • Restore tests and their record
  • Updates and planned upgrades

Not included

  • A helpdesk
  • Network administration
  • Workstation administration
  • Servers and systems we do not host

How care is priced.

A monthly fee for one production ERP site: monitoring, off-site backups with a scheduled restore check, security and minor updates, and planning of major upgrades. The hosting bill is passed through at cost.

Final price fixed in writing after the assessment.
